2 steps forward 1 step back

by Aron Po on March 2, 2010

It’s March 2nd and I have been out of the gym for almost 2 months… I miss it, but even worse I can feel and see the changes in my body. The extra energy I had is gone, the healthy glow is starting to fade, and I feel lazy pretty much all the time. Moving didn’t help any of this either. I am now back in Ann Arbor, but the nearest Anytime Fitness at the moment is over 30 minutes away. That adds up quick when you are used to being in the gym 6 days a week.
I was excited to learn that there was a Anytime Fitness opening in Ann Arbor March 1st, but due to complications with the Building inspector they have been delayed till March 15th, and even that may not be set in stone at this point.
So I have come up with a plan; I have decided to modify my diet, buy a couple of 20lb dumbbells, and put together a high intensity body weight boot camp to put myself through for the next 2 weeks, or at least until my new gym opens.
I am excited to see just how far I can push myself over the next 2 weeks, and if I will be able to see a definitive change when my program is up.
The challenge starts today… feel free to follow my progress on Daily Burn, and for those of you would like to join the 2 week challenge I will be posting my body weight workout shortly!
Good Luck!

A Little Extra Down Time

by Drew Griffin on January 18, 2010

Relax

Relax

Going after your goals requires persistence, hard work and amazing focus that is for sure. However, having some extra ‘down time’, can go a long way. It can help re-fuel your body and heal it. In fact it is quite necessary to allow the body to recoup after intense exercise. It will allow the body to adjust to the intensity it has been through all week and let it heal itself. Take the day off and enjoy it. Enjoy the success and the hard work you have experienced last week.

Experience transformations don’t just observe! Tell me that you aren’t moved by some of the transformations you see when you watch the Biggest Loser or see those people who went from being overweight to being fit. The contestants on the Biggest Loser make obvious external changes. They lose fat and tons of weight. You can’t [...]
